Another Slice of Rainbow

A long, long time ago when M was only four, I baked a rainbow cake for her birthday. Even though she is now all growed up and turned a humongous seven years old yesterday, she still remembers her last slice of rainbow.

“I have to take a cake into school for my birthday on Wednesday,” she told me as we walked in the shade of the Roman city walls on Monday afternoon.

“And it has to be a rainbow cake.”

Sometimes, it’s best not to question dreams too closely …

Such an exciting cake – I think I’ll have to try one out in time to make one for the beginning of December. M’s sunglasses are really cool…wonder where they’re from… 😉 Luvnhugs, Lucy xx

And December is … a good time of year for rainbows? (please tell me – what have I forgotten about now!?)
We love the sunglasses – thank you xx 🙂

Gosh, doesn’t time fly! It doesn’t seem like three years since we saw the first Rainbow cake. I hope a lovely time was had by all.

M had her ‘party outing’ to a ballet this weekend, which meant … more cake! I made her a Chocolate Brownie Cookie Cake yum. I never knew my babies were going to grow up into such cake-eating monsters!

(first few pictures of cake and cake-related excitement.)
Don’t know how you made all the layers stay put as ours ended up more swirly… supreme skills I expect. Mum says you made a dessert that was half cookie half brownie at the weekend, sounds amazing!!
    Love to you all xx

Hellooo! Hmm – batter too runny, perhaps? Nothing to do with skill – purely a matter of batter, ha!
The cookie cake … I wanted to call it a Choc Chip Cookie Chocolate Brownie Cake, but L thought that was silly. It still tasted good though!
Love to you all too xx
